CAROLINA REBELION: SHOW OVERVIEW.

Lets talk the PROS of Carolina Rebellion.

For those of you who did not attend I overheard it being compared to a “modern day Woodstock” or “the next step after warped tour”.

With that in mind I think this show is definitely an 18+ show, because of the environment. If you are under 18, just stick with warped tour until the timing is right.

For everyone over 18: this show is great! From crowd surfing to moshing its all here at carolina rebellion! Just remember some people are pushy when it comes to that…

It was awesome to ditch the camera for this show and actually be apart of the crowd. With that here’s my TOP 3 Performances for 2013:

3) HALESTORM

…I think these guys would of taken a high spot if given a later show time slot. But for being during the afternoon-They did great Arejay (drummer) even did some crowdsurfing after the show!

2) THREE DAYS GRACE

..I know Adam was not there but they still had a great performance! WIth some nice effects (fire). All in all it was a great set- performed every song I wanted to hear.

1) PAPA ROACH

…I’ve been dying to see this guy perform sense I was 12! And he did NOT disappoint at all. He played MOST of the songs I wanted to hear, and even crowd surfed during his set.

Yes, all these performances are were from the SATURDAY set. But I just don’t see a Sunday band that topped these three.

BEST JAGERMISTER STAGE PERFORMANCE:

ESCAPE THE FATE.

These guys killed it for performing on a smaller stage (why were they on there to begin with?!) Great performance from them. Everything I expected minus “Situations”

Definitely expect more from these guys- they are about to go on tour with HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD and drop a new album this month. They’re going to blow up in your face.

Did anyone get any free stuff, besides an energy drink? I didn’t-major downfall. Most festivals gave out a bunch of free stuff but I did not seem to find any at Carolina Rebellion.

Was it just me-or was there something off with Buckcherry? Major props for performing in the rain and not bailing on us but I am not sure what it was…he just dropped half his lyrics off.

As for Sunday: Here is the official statement from Rebellion:

“we’ve decided to do the next best thing by giving you a ticket to next year’s Sunday show day absolutely FREE. That’s right, you will receive the financial equivalent of a Rebellion general admission ticket for Sunday and it won’t cost you anything. We also understand that some of you may not be able to or want to attend Carolina Rebellion next year. Rather than just say we are sorry, we want to make sure everyone is offered something. So, if you are not interested in a free ticket to next year’s Sunday show, you can instead opt for a 20% refund of the face value of your 2013 ticket purchase. “

I spent the first hour of Rebellion on Sunday under the handicapped stage talking with other Rebels about the show, it was a great experience. From there it was the waiting game. Props to: American Fangs, All That Remains, Escape The Fate, Hollywood Undead, and Buckcherry for playing. Everything was moving along until after buckcherry. Everyone was excited to finally get to RISE AGAINST. We stood there for about two hours before an announcement was made. The crowd was about to riot within themselves. The entertainment for those two hours depended on: SQUEEGE MAN, Flashing completion (men and women), and a lot of people smoking pot. What a experience, I do wish they would of told us sooner rather than making us wait in the rain for two hours- but what an experience. One I’ll never forget-and I’m sure you wont either.

The brand new band featuring Aaron Fink and Mark James (ex- Breaking Benjamin/Lifer, Nick Coyle of (ex-Lifer/The Drama Club), & Josh Karis.

Some roots never die, no matter how they are cut. Stardog Champion is proof of this. Aaron Fink and Mark James reunite with vocalist Nick Coyle reigniting the creative flame that sparked the band Lifer and set the path for Breaking Benjamin success, add drummer Josh Karis to the mix and you get Stardog Champion. Produced by Grammy-nominated Neal Avron (Switchfoot, Everclear, Linkin Park) Exhale the group’s first EP featuring the single “When We Fall” is a collection of sharp, mature rock tracks unlike a lot of modern day manufactured rock tunes. Updated band performance times have been announced for Carolina Rebellion, the Carolinas’ BIGGEST Weekend of Rock. Carolina Rebellion has grown to two full days in its third year and takes place May 4 & 5 at Rock City Campgrounds at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte. Carolina Rebellion2013 features a lineup full of rock heavyweights, including: Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Limp Bizkit, Rise Against,Bush, Deftones, and many more.

Yes Vic- that is a great way to describe the tour!

Simply-Amazing. Priceless.

The line-up: You Me At Six, Mayday Parade, Pierce The Veil, & All Time Low.

I wont give the show away- seeing as it has a month left so there are plenty of you that have not seen it yet. Just know it has everything from: crazy fan girls, free rockstar, acoustic performances, circle pits, & of course your favorite bands.

Incase you missed the tour:

Rockstar will be awarding 27 lucky winners with a pair of tickets to any of the Spring Fever Music Tour stops. One lucky grand prize winner will be flown to Boston, MA to meet the members of All Time Low and Pierce the Veil among other awesome prizes!
